Breast reconstruction with Winback tecar therapy

Breast reconstruction via surgery is an integral part of breast cancer treatment, both in the case of mastectomy and lumpectomy. The choice of reconstructive surgery is often thought out and defined before the cancer surgery.

There are several types of reconstruction surgery:

- By prosthesis: as its name indicates, it consists of placing a breast prosthesis in the breast to give it a natural appearance, either during the same operation as for the mastectomy or later.
- Injection: also called lipofilling, this cosmetic surgery procedure consists of injecting fat, taken from the patient's abdomen, into the breast in order to reconstruct the breast that has undergone surgery.
- By flap: this technique consists of recovering healthy tissue from another part of the body (lumbar region, abdominal region, etc.) when the skin of the breast has been damaged, either by surgery or radiotherapy sessions. This technique is used to obtain a more natural result than with a prosthesis.

Using tecartherapy before surgery

The use of Winback prior to surgery will be to help revascularise the tissue. The biological effects generated in conjunction with manual therapy will allow tissue vascularisation: vessels will expand, and blood and lymphatic circulation will be increased. As a result, tissue regeneration will be both faster and more qualitative.

Indeed, the biological effects associated with a strong diathermy make it possible to create a neo-collagenesis and a neovascularization of the damaged tissues. With improved tissue trophicity, the upcoming surgery will have a better chance of healing well and therefore offering better results.

The contribution of Winback energy in the post-operative period

The application of TECAR in the post-operative period will also have many virtues: healing and pain relief, conservation of shoulder mobilisation, particularly in the pectoral gliding planes, as we explained in this article. The TECAR current will allow to obtain an analgesic effect (the association with the pulse via the Hi-TENS by R-Shock device reinforces this effect) and, again, to improve the regeneration and the healing of tissues by increasing the production of collagen. As a result of this process, the appearance of the scar will be improved and the mechanical consequences will be reduced.

Here too, the use of Winback energy will improve the quality of healing. Since diathermy improves the viscoelasticity of the fascia, TECAR combined with manual therapy can restore mobility and reduce postural stress, especially in flap surgery.

Thanks to these applications, the results of the surgery will be optimised in terms of the appearance of the scar and the mechanical consequences, with analgesic and comfortable care. Better, faster, gentler.
