Healing phases with Winback tecartherapy

Healing refers to the set of phenomena that will lead to the restoration of a solution of tissue continuity. This set of tissue repair phenomena involves many cellular and molecular processes. These processes are generally described in three overlapping phases. Skin healing is what will interest us most as a manual therapist, to avoid the tissue complications, fascial or postural disorders that they might induce. However, other soft tissues (ligaments, tendons, viscera...) present the same healing phases with specific histological aspects for each structure. The knowledge of these cellular and molecular processes, phase by phase, as well as the knowledge of the Winback energy, will allow to optimize the healing.

The initial vascular and inflammatory phase

The vascular stage, through vasodilatation and increased capillary permeability, allows the supply of serum proteins, such as fibrinogen, which limit the extension of lesions and guide inflammatory cells.

The inflammatory stage is ensured by the formation of the inflammatory granuloma composed, among others, of macrophages. This stage is fundamental because the quality of the detersion will determine the further evolution of the scarring process. Thanks to diathermy, locally applied Winback energy (in CET or MIX) helps to promote this initial stage, by improving the vascularisation of the superficial capillaries. In order to avoid infectious risks, we work around the wound.

The tissue recovery phase

This phase corresponds to the proliferation of fibroblasts, angiogenesis and the synthesis of the extra-cellular matrix. The biological effect of Winback energy optimises this phase, through its action on the fibroblast by making type III collagen bio-available at first, then progressively type I collagen.

The maturation and remodelling phase

The extra-cellular matrix will remodel in the two months following wound closure. Secondary maturation, with the development of a denser, stronger and more elastic collagenous structure, continues for up to two years. The biological effect of Winback, combined with gentle diathermy, improves tissue trophicity. Thanks to its diffusion through the RET bracelets, the diathermy generated allows the therapist to direct the collagenous remodelling.

The Winback energy thus allows to optimise each phase of the healing process thanks to its principles of action: the biological effect and the diathermy. When properly applied, through the right accessory, early scar treatments with Winback will offer a good prognosis of the scarring process.
